Developed to supplement the Defence Force School of Languages (DFSL) LOTE Tactical Interaction course in partnership with Australian Army Simulation Group and the DFSL, the TI Simulator provides 3D virtual world simulation to instruct and assess mission-critical language and culture skills. Simulation covered three hostility levels: red, amber and green.

This simulator features contextualized practice to facilitate skill transfer to real-world situations in Tetum, the language spoken in East Timor. Task-based instruction focuses on skills necessary to successfully accomplish tasks while game-based design develops and maintains learner motivation. The simulator also provided accurate assessment of trainee’s skills and abilities.
