Applications

We design, develop, field and sustain specialized interactive multimedia instruction applications (IMI level 4) that are intelligent tutoring and mission-rehearsal systems involving immersive simulations of real-life spoken social communication.

Our initial applications have been the highly successful Tactical Language & Culture Training Systems, award-winning courses that teach foreign languages and cultural knowledge needed to conduct tasks effectively and safely during both daily life and military missions. They have been used since 2005 by tens of thousands of U.S., Australian and British warfighters to learn how to communicate in foreign languages and cultures.

Within the past 12 months we have been successfully expanding the scope of our training and mission-rehearsal simulations in both conventional warfare and emerging areas of importance, such as counter-terrorism, counterinsurgency and non-kinetic operations.

We owe our success to our adherence to two principles:

• Careful attention to the needs of our clients. During the initial stages of each project and throughout its life cycle, we seek input from users, their superiors and supervisors, external subject-matter experts, and contracting officers. This informs our requirements analysis and design, and frequently uncovers issues that may not be apparent from the initial requirements statements. It has enabled us to anticipate changes in project requirements, and allowed us to recommend new requirements to our contracting officers.
• Continuous evaluation and improvement. Throughout each project’s life cycle we collect data on how users react to and use our products. We also support independent evaluations commissioned by our clients. This enables a process of continual product improvement. It is particularly important for projects where it is usually difficult to predict the performance of new and advanced technologies.

We successfully execute projects as prime contractors, often managing academic and commercial subcontractors. We are also a reliable team player when we work as a subcontractor.

We make our technologies and methodologies available as stand-alone products such as the Tactical Language & Culture Training Systems, or as embedded or complementary components of larger-scale applications.

Our Alelo Technology authoring products enable quick and economic publishing of simulations that incorporate our social-communication technologic and pedagogic innovations for either in-house use or resale.
